Snow Day
Senior year we had one of the biggest snow days ever, it was at least a couple feet deep. I didnt have a car yett, so usually my mom would have yo wake up extra early and give me a ride to school, and then drop my brother off at daycare. Today it was the other way around. Since we rarely get snow days, I wanted the car to go out and do things with my friends, i wasnt staying home all day stranded at my house. So that morning my plan was to take my mom to work and drop my little brother off at daycare. The car started thank god, and took about 10 min to heat up and scrape all the frost off the windows. My moms boyfriend was nice enough to shovel the driveway so we could get out. The roads were horrible, at least the back roads were, the main roads were worn down by all the traffic as long as you drove on the tire marks. When the turn came to take the small road to my moms work it was compleatly blocked by a snow pile. It wasnt a huge pile but you would think you would need a truck to plow through that, and not my moms acura. Anyways i stepped on the gas and we flew through the pile, i was preying we wouldnt get stuck. Finally we made it to her work fine, i dropped her off and she told me "BE CAREFUL" and as soon as i got out to the main road to turn i got stuck. I wasnt stuck for long it took a couple hits on the gas before i broke free. It had been a half hour already and i still havent even got my little brother to day care yett. I drove very carefully and everything was going pretty good, until i did a stupid thing and decided to take the less busier road to daycare. And of corse they were back roads!! Yupp the second turn right next to day care i got stuck! those roads whernt yett plowed. I tryed to pound on the gas to see if we would jump out of there like at my moms work, but i wasnt so lucky this time. We were stuck. Sure we were at his daycare already i could have probibly dropped him off inside, but i still would be stuck in the snow, stranded! This was a nightmare and i pannicked, i got out and started kicking the snow between the tires to see if it would give me some room to force myself out of there, that didnt work. Then i was thinking of trying to push on the gas and push the car at the same time, but that wouldnt work eaither. Then all of a sudden i see this guy and his son walking down the road. And hes carrying a little kids shovel!! I felt embarrassed but glad at the same time. When they got closer to me they could tell that i was obviously stuck, and they came over and statred to shovel me out! Finally i was free!! i thanked them many times. This time i would be smart and stick to the roads that are already plowed, and worn down by traffic.

That's scary. This is why I dislike winter, it always makes life difficult.
ReplyDeleteI love your courage and I am convinient that you will be a model for those who will come after you. We learn a lot from our parents. Good luck
